I created a new webpage of 20+ appetizers, with recipes and photos. Most of them from my past cookie exchanges, a few from other party hosts that shared and went into my newsletters. There's also 3 great punch recipes. www.cookie-exchange.com/appetizers/index.html

I just ask for 6 dozen cookies and keep it simple. In my book, The Cookie Party Cookbook I layout every possible method of swapping, the pros and cons of each and instructions on how to do it. The Cookie Party Cookbook: The Ultimate Guide to Hosting a Cookie Exchange www.cookie-exchange.com/the_cookie_party_cookbook/index.htmlGood luck with whatever your decision is on the method.

I say go for it. It will take about 10 cans of paint, and cost around $30 bucks. If I were to do this project, I'd start with white and cover the tree completely with that and then use a few cans of pink and give it a soft layered look. Also, they make these things that go over the can button so you don't have to lose a finger doing this. Of course do it outside and wear a mask. If you do it, send pictures, I'd love to see it. robin@cookie-exchange.com
Good Luck!

There are many, many recipes that are SIMPLER to make w/ less ingredients than Toll House chocolate chip cookies. The reason non bakers default to choco-chip is because the recipe is listed on the package.
I would send her 3 simple recipes and tell her to choose one.
These recipes are all "out there" in some form, but they are also in my book: "The Cookie Party Cookbook"
Mexican Wedding Cookies (pg 174) Espresso Shortbread cookies, (pg 103) Petite Almond Pies (pg 210) (can sub pecans)
If you care enough about her attendence, there's always certain people you have to "hand-hold"... I still have a few (and thankfully it's just a few) people who require more attention than others.

I think that's a great idea. How about a short n' sweet 'STD' poem with touch of humor to it.
This year I'm taking a break, so no cookies for us all to bake until next year and then we'll cheer for the good ole' cookie exchange!
Save the Date Dec. 12, 2012

I removed the extra password to access the CE Crafters board. It's up at top of screen. Everyone was forgetting the password. But you have to be a regular registered member of this board to post. Share your creativity!

Hi Ruth Ann, I just checked that page and it seems fine. Try going again. www.cookie-exchange.com/sign_up_newsletter.htmlMaybe the server was down at Aweber Communications at the time you looked. (www.aweber.com) That's the business that hosts my newsletters and to sign up, even though you're on my site, you're really going through them, because the sign up thingy is a javascript from their website. Websites go down all the time, but it's just momentary.
