Started baking yet? I just saw a Better Homes & Garden magazine in the grocery store today - a special Christmas cookie one...that said, start now...& freeze.

I haven't started baking yet, but did get my invitations printed out and even sent a few by email today using email Christmas stationary I found online.I usually start baking right after Thanksgiving because not only do I do the exchange, but I bake for my son's school and other family and friends as well.Cindy

I baked 12 dozen cookies (4 different kinds) 2 weeks before Thanksgiving as a starter batch and to try some new recipes. ... but I ate them all!

I just started yesterday. I made Chinese Almond Cookies, Raisin Walnut Biscotti, and started my Windmill (the spice kind) cookies; the dough is in the fridge chilling as we speak.
My next two in line are something called Luscious Chocolate Crisps (haven't tried these as yet) and cinnamon pinwheel snickerdoodles (another new one for me -- although I have a 2nd cinnamon pinwheel I want to try also. Hard to decide.)
I have such a long list I want to do this year, it will be tough honing it down. But some others I'm considering are Lemon Cardamom Butter Cookies, Orange Scented Oatmeal Dipped in White Chocolate, Applesauce Honey, New York Style Bakery Cookies (which I do with a marble), coconut macaroons, and something called walnut bonnets, which is a piped cookie with a walnut apricot center, and some type of jam filled something or other.
And I always do my peanut butter surprise and chocolate chip butter cookies.
Now I'm making myself hungry! And worrying about all the work! LOL
