www.savetheinternet.com Congress is about to vote about AT&T, Verizon and Comcast owning all the networks we surf! Do you want to have to pay $$ for every website you visit? I don't! ...good article explaining in todays Washington Post Go here to sign the petition, they will send it to your local politicians. www.savetheinternet.com/=actNo Tolls on The Internet By Lawrence Lessig and Robert W. McChesney Thursday, June 8, 2006; Page A23 Congress is about to cast a historic vote on the future of the Internet. It will decide whether the Internet remains a free and open technology fostering innovation, economic growth and democratic communication, or instead becomes the property of cable and phone companies that can put toll booths at every on-ramp and exit on the information superhighway. At the center of the debate is the most important public policy you've probably never heard of: "network neutrality." Net neutrality means simply that all like Internet content must be treated alike and move at the same speed over the network. The owners of the Internet's wires cannot discriminate. This is the simple but brilliant "end-to-end" design of the Internet that has made it such a powerful force for economic and social good: All of the intelligence and control is held by producers and users, not the networks that connect them. The protections that guaranteed network neutrality have been law since the birth of the Internet -- right up until last year, when the Federal Communications Commission eliminated the rules that kept cable and phone companies from discriminating against content providers. This triggered a wave of announcements from phone company chief executives that they plan to do exactly that. Now Congress faces a legislative decision. Will we reinstate net neutrality and keep the Internet free? Or will we let it die at the hands of network owners itching to become content gatekeepers? The implications of permanently losing network neutrality could not be more serious. The current legislation, backed by companies such as AT&T, Verizon and Comcast, would allow the firms to create different tiers of online service. They would be able to sell access to the express lane to deep-pocketed corporations and relegate everyone else to the digital equivalent of a winding dirt road. Worse still, these gatekeepers would determine who gets premium treatment and who doesn't.

After 2 shows, I have to say I am not into the characters yet...but here goes.... I like the guy w/ one leg for his bravery. The black guy is pompous and annoying... like when he was having a fit about the woman cheering when they won the challenge, and then he was cheering when the men finally won one. The Sarge guys seems ok. Twila and Scout are the memorable woman right now, the others, their personalities haven't clicked w/ me yet. My biggest 'complaint' is that how un-Survivor savvy EVERYONE is... You need water to live and water must be boiled... If I knew I was going to be on Survivor, I would go out in my backyard and learn TO MAKE fire!!! I'd practive everyday until I got it right. These people act like they've never seen the previous 8 other seasons.

Hi Robin, Sorry, I missed seeing this question before... I have no idea how many people are named Robin... but I did start a "Robin Ring" in 97. www.robinsweb.com/robin-ring.html... Seems most Robins outside of the US are males and inside the US (like me) are females. I only personally know female Robins. Lastly, I often get email which starts out "Dear Sir". Robin is the diminutive of Robert which means "Bright with Shining Fame". I like it, I think it's a cool name, no matter what sex you are.

Lisa, I've never heard of Cowboy U, what channel is that on?
Re: Rudy.... No offense to Rudy, I like the old coot... but this last episode he was "hurtin"... Somehow he injured his ankle and couldn't run at all. (He didn't know how he hurt it.) Then when they did the immunity challenge he was useless and his team lost... it was like they were down a player, he just couldn't keep up w/ the group and he stmbled a lot. Unfortunately his age is showing now. If that team wanted to survive at all they had to get rid of him. This same team went to Tribal Council before and dumped Tina. They only have 4 players left now! Rudy, Jerri, Ethan and Jenna.
FROM SURVIVOR SITE: NO REST FOR THE WEAK: RUDY BOESCH VOTED OUT
As SURVIVOR: ALL-STARS pushed forward, the Saboga tribe was forced to make their second trek to Tribal Council, where they ousted Rudy Boesch, the 76-year-old All-Star of SURVIVOR: BORNEO from Virginia Beach, Virginia. Due to his age coupled with an injured ankle, Rudy was viewed as the weakest member of tribe, causing him to be eliminated from Saboga in a three-to-two decision.
Shortly after his torch was extinguished, Rudy warned; "Everything was all set up to vote Ethan off. I can see Ethan voting against me, but I can't see the other two people voting against me. And if I was them... I'd stay clear of me."

Hi Lisa, For your viewing enjoyment (LOL) here is the whole picture, circa 1964, Atlantic City, New Jersey. Back then, Atlantic City used to be a "family beach resort"! My grandparents owned an apartment building just off the Boardwalk near the Breakers and Garden Pier. Re: Survivor -- I feel sorry for people that have to see Richard naked! Re: Getting rid of Rudy, it was the right choice... he just was too weak to help with challenges or anything. Rudy's "threat" during his farewell speak was amusing! Survivor is not about being a nice person. I think that Rupert will not make it to the end because of that.

Thoughts on last night... shocker to see Tina get the boot first... but then... anyone who has already won a million dollars is a target to the other survivors....
Weird to see Rupert not 'in charge', but then the other Survivors did not see Rupert's appearance on Pearl Islands, as it hadn't aired yet. Rup only had a month of rest before he went back on the Island. No fishing spear, either. Rupert was so valuable as a food provider. Now he has to change his game.
No one got a luxury item to bring and the only supplies are a machete, a pot and a map to the undrinkable water. No food! No rice, no grains...They're all suffering after 3 days... this IS going to be the hardest Survivor yet.
Rudy doesn't look like he is going to have the stamina to make it. Richard Hatch should be fed to the fishes... how obnoxious he is, not even helping! Jerri is being easy going, not yelling at anyone... Jenna from the Survivor 1 is a target because she is too vocal and made her thoughts known that previous winners don't deserve it again. Alicia will rub everyone the wrong way, she is way too over bearing... Amanda will stick by Boston Rob. Colby and Lex are the strongest physically. They've got the best chance to win if they can stay under the radar and not piss people off too much.
This show will air again this Tues.

Robin: Yep, I'll be watching Survivor Allstars as well!!!! Colby, oh yes!!!! This should be good. I haven't seen all of the Survivors but I've seen the first three. So, this should be very interesting! Funny you mention Jerri & Colby, I couldn't stand her when she was on!!! LOL Lisa ;D I didn't care for Jerri (did anybody?) but it was interesting to watch her --and them together because it was so apparent that she had a crush on Colby... then he used that against her, pretending to be her friend. She was probably shocked when she saw the show when it finally aired and she could see what he was saying about her behind her back... I'm wondering if she is going to try and "pay him back".

All the men in my life are gearing up for Superbowl... however I am waiting for Superbowl to be over, because right after Superbowl ends -- Survivor Allstars starts!! I am a Survivor junky... have seen every episode. Go here: www.cbs.com/primetime/survivor8/index.shtmlCan't wait to see Colby (!), Jerri, Rupert, The Shi-devil, Eathan, Rudy, Lex, Tina, Amanda, the 2 Jenna's, the 2 Rob's... etc....Survivor promises that this will be the hardest one yet... I'm so excited... ;D I notice Vecipia isn't in it, even though she won, she was never a crowd favorite... can't wait to see how Jerri and Colby interact... Rupert is a favorite to win... Lex and Colby won the most individual challenges... Usually the strongest doesn't win...(with the exception of Porn Star Brian (who's not in this) -- the ones that have won, have slid under the radar... I think this will be the best Survivor yet!

Lisa, it's amazing but true.... those peeps think they CAN sing. You couldn't pay me enough $$ to get up there and make a fool of myself. These people all signed releases, before they were taped... and that's why the 'worst of the worst' are used for commercials --and they can't sue!

Hi Lisa, So did you watch it? I have to admit this years start was rather weird... they had so many bad singers and I really didn't see anyone who knocked my socks off, like Clay did last year when he did his first audition. I actually felt sorry for Simon, Randy and Paula for having to sit through so many bad singers. www.idolonfox.com

I just love this show... tonight is the 3rd night... the first 2 shows were hilarious... some people think they can sing, when they can't even hold a tune. I know I can't sing and I'd never in a million years try to subject anyone to my singing... let alone all of America...
Anyway, I love the concept that anyone with raw talent has a chance to pursue the American dream, whether they look like an idol or not. Take Ruben and Clay for instance...
Anyone else watch the show? Do you see any front runners yet? (I don't.) Maybe tonight will show some good talent.
