I was wanting to know when others send their magnets out. Last year I waited untilOctober and felt it was too late. I was thinking mid September. Is this too early? Just curious what others do.

I was wondering the same thing. Though I just send online save-the-dates, not magnets. I think I'll go on and send mine this weekend, too... then maybe every month thereafter...

I got my Save-the-Date out kind of late this year, after three girls asked me if I was having a Cookie Exchange again. I like to use business cards, the kind you can print on and attach a little magnet to the back and they can then hang it on the fridge. It is so fun to go to their houses between now and then and see the little card hanging on their fridge. I just put on it "SAVE THE DATE" December 4, 2010 Cookie Exchange Thanks, Pam. I also put a little picture of whatever theme I may be thinking of using. I use a Print Master program I have on my computer and it works great. In the past I sent them out the beginning of September, but this year it was not until the first of October, a little late, I think. But it got done. I do think the Save the Date cards are a good thing to get everyone's creative juices flowing, even mine.

Magnets are a clever idea! With the advent of Facebook, Evite, etc, I've used all those, and I have paper invites to send in the mail (which will be going out tomorrow since I've found my stamps now!) I wanted to get the initial invite out earlier, but I was trying to feel out how well the idea would be received among family members. They're not great about RSVP-ing, so who knows how many will actually show up...so far it's just me and my mom!

I have begun planning my 2011 Christmas Cookie Exchange and I was wondering do you send Save The Date magnets/cards to the ladies who have came to your cookie exchanges? I thought I would send out to those that have came and then send to those I want to invite new with my letter I send out closer to the date of my cookie exchange. I would love to know how other ladies handle this. Thanks in advance for any input you ladies can share with me.

I send my save-the-date cards in July. Last year I only sent them to the ladies that attended the prior year, but realized I should have included newbies too! So this year everyone got one. I used Shutterfly to create a photo save-the-date card with pictures from last years exchange. Gives last years guests a keep-sake and the newbies a glimpse of the fun. The ladies have already started commenting about the cards on my Facebook page - a huge hit!

I am definitely going to get a jump on things this year! All the ladies who came last year have been talking about it since - all are very excited! This year I'm going to extend the invite beyond just family; don't get me wrong, I love my family dearly, but sometimes its great to have fresh ideas on things! I might encourage each guest to bring a friend in addition to inviting family friends. I do like the magnet idea - as it's easier to just plop it on the fridge and not have to take up space with it. I'm pretty excited about it this year - I searched high and low once all the Christmas goodies went on clearance last year and found some fun things! There is a healthy competition among the ladies - each of them want to dethrone the Cookie Queen! I just need to decide on a theme - I've got a couple ideas floating around my noggin, but nothing set in stone yet! I'm much too fickle for that!
