I have done a cookie exchange the lat 3 years and someone suggested that it is always too many cookies...has anyone ever done a frozen cookie dough exchange where everyone can bake the cookies when they wanted?

I would think that transporting and keeping the cookie dough frozen could be a problem. Most cookies can be frozen after being baked. We have about 25 ladies participate and I ask each lady to bring a package of 4 cookies for each lady. Then, if the families don't eat them up (like mine does!) they can be frozen and they are already baked.

Heather if you were to do this... give instructions for everyone to buy a cooler (cheap styrofoam would work) and keep the doughs on ice for the party. It could be done.
But... is it worth the effort? Most baked cookies freeze well.

Thanks for the replies ladies! A friend of mine had suggested doing a frozen dough party instead...and I have never heard of anyone doing it that way before which is why I asked:)
