I saw the old BPAA video with duckpins in it. www.archive.org/details/LetsGoBo1955_2They are using AMF 82-30's in the center, the same types of machines I have at home. Does anyone know if the pins would work or just fall out? Did they hand set these pins? If someone knows where I can find duckpins I would just put them in the machine and see what happens.

You can purchase duckpins from www.garlandmfg.com. The pins are not maple but a high density plastic. I have a set of pins and they are very durable. Garland Manufacturing sent me a free sample pin. If you know someone with a wood lathe and copying attachment you can probably make your own. The cost per pin is quite expensive $27.50 and they come in a case of twelve. I'll let your figure out the math. You can google some interesting pinsetter websites. One is the 1/4 scale A-2 pinsetter site on comcast. Another is www.tim-wallce.com. This guy put a pinsetter is his garage. I'm considering doing the same thing but converting it to duckpins. I worked on Brunswick A-2 pinsetters in college. It's about $2,000 for a used machine.
