STEVE ROUSE, MAYNARD, WQSR and the story behind the song.
FISHIN' ON THE CHESAPEAKE BAY
In 2001 when I was 46 years old I was working at Bethlehem steel as a Mechanic in the 68 inch hot strip mill. I wrote a song and sang it over the phone to Steve Rouse of Rouse and Company,.I just wanted to get his opinion of it. The song is called "Fishin on the Chesapeake Bay" Before this phone call I had never spoke to or met Steve Rouse. Steve liked the song and stopped me after singing 2 verses. He said, Eddie, hold on a second. I have Maynard here and he wants to play guitar along with you and we'll put you on the radio if it's ok with you. I said Hell yea thats cool So I started singing again and maynards playing guitar and it went live on the air. It was 9 am I was laying in bed reading the lyrics that i hadn't even memorized yet. So it happened It was real cool and that was it. Some of my friends heard it and called me to see if it was really me on there. It all went down real fast and I didn't even have time to or think to record it. It was over. I was happy with that. End of story.
Then, the next morning as I'm getting ready for work,I had the radio on as usual. The next thing I know,I hear my song playing on the radio again at the peak of the morning rush hour. That's when I lost my mind and I have not been right since. They played the song during rush hour every day that week making it part of their show. They sent me the recording of it on cassette and I took it to a local studio and had it put on cd to preserve it..That phone call and especially what happened the next morning changed my life forever. When they sent me the recording, they put the ball back in my court. It was then up to me to do something with it. It is the only thing i have been able to think about ever since it happened. I've been to Memphis,Las Vegas and Hollywood over it and now I finally have a finished product. It's just an ep cd but it's all I need right now. My band will be releasing our cd at a later time.
Ten years has passed and now Morgan Creek Hollywood films is reviewing my story and considering making a movie out of it. Morgan Creek CEO James G Robinson was born in Baltimore.

"BLACK CAT BONE" My Movie
I've been writing short stories of my adventures for years. I have enough of them to write a book but no one reads books anymore so I'd rather make a movie out of the stories.I want to call the movie"BLACK CAT BONE" ( musicians sometimes called CATS). The reason behind the title is,.I used to be a Steelworker for 30 yrs.mostly in the foundry and the rolling mills. I was a Mechanic in what they call THE BULL GANG.. cool name huh? Well I hated every minute of it. haha. I felt like i was chained to it. It gave me the blues..In 1990.I injured my neck at work and had to have surgery. I needed a fusion of two discs in my neck. The doctor talked me into getting a piece of bone from the bone bank to do the fusion. Just like getting an organ from a donor. So they put the bone in my neck and next thing I know I turned into a blues singer And I believe my doctor gave me a BLACK CATS BONE. I've been singin the blues ever since.I'm a White blues singer with a black cats bone. That bone must have come from a now departed blues singer that was on a mission to make his name in the blues when suddenly he was taken out somehow. Probably by a jealous Husband. haha Shortly after I had that bone installed I wound up in a tattoo parlor getting a portrait of muddy waters on my left upper arm.
Once the blues got on me I got the urge to travel. Spent a month in Memphis jammin all over Beale street. Too many cool things happened there including an encounter with the Beale street Gypsy Woman, who approached me after I sang about 8 songs to end a show at Kings Palace Courtyard on Beale street. She came up to me with a huge smile on her face, pointed at me and told me "Success is in your future".
From there I went out to LA for 45 days and recorded some of my originals which I now have on cd.
Here is the title track lyrics for my movie soundtrack
I BELIEVE MY DOCTOR GAVE ME A BLACK CATS BONE.
Well i hurt my neck about 15 years ago
hurt so bad it sent me right to the floor
it put me in such condition
had to call on a physician
and i believe my doctor gave me a black cats bone
now let me clear up what i'm tryin to say
i went to see a neurosurgeon one day
he thought that i was fakin
but when the m.r.i. was taken
he said son i believe you need an operation
and i believe my doctor gave me a black cats bone
he said to cure your ills you need a fusion
a donated bone is the bone that ill be usin
i said that'll be just fine
a bone bank bone or mine
but i believe my doctor gave me a black cats bone
i got a question bout that bone he gave me
dont get me wrong, the bone i got has saved me
i think that bone they used
has got me screamin the blues
and i believe my doctor gave me a black cats bone

If you are not sure what i'm talking about in the story above, Search Cellular Memory. It's a theory that can not be proven or shot down. There have been books written about it by people that have experienced it.. The theory is that any cells in a human body can contain memories, personality traits, habbits, cravings, etc of the person who donated the organ etc and those traits transfer to the recipient of the donor organ.
