I'm hosting my first cookie exchange and one person has asked if alcoholic beverages will be served. I have no problem with that, but what would be recommended?

Last year was my first CE. I was not planning on serving any alcohol but my friend showed up with this HUGE bottle of wine. It went well and everyone was responsible. This year I am serving chilled wine and also a warm mulled spiced apple wine in addition to coffe, tea, water, diet soad. I have included a note in my invites that if you want regular soda - bring your own.

This is our "girls night out", so I DO serve alcohol at mine! For over 10 years, I've been serving Bahama Mamas at my exchanges and it's become tradition. I used to serve a variety of blended drinks, but it's become too time-consuming for me, during a party, so now I just make up pitchers of Bahama Mamas ahead of time. I also have available beer, coffee, sodas, and wine. And I HIGHLY encourage designated drivers to my guests. Most get dropped off and picked up by husbands.

I always try to have some sort of holiday drink. One year I served a drink called Santa's Hat and last year I served a drink called "the grinch".

My husband has made hot buttered rum in a crock pot and left it on the counter for my guests ever since my 2nd C.E. This is one of the things guests ask about now. It is always a big hit (it's so rich you don't notice that it's not strong on the alcohol). I have tea, sodas and water, too.

I serve homemade cocoa and you can spike it if you wish with peppermint shcanpps, I've served a wassail which is basically hot apple cider, which can be spiked with brandy. Also eggnog which can also be spiked if wish. I serve White and Rose' Wines. along with bottled gas and no gas water, and also my little special bottle pop, the little cokes sprite, rootbeer, orange crush etc, all in bottles. they all seem to find something they like to drink.

I always serve a champagne punch and brandied eggnog along with an assortment of non-alcoholic beverages.
I really like the suggestion of serving a signature drink - great idea Kitty!

I also have alcohol as well as non alcoholic beverages. I serve a rum/ fruit punch that is easy to make as well as wine, beer, pop and water. My party is also a Saturday night out for the girls. I don't serve mixed drinks because it is way to time consuming.

I always serve a holiday theme cocktail or 2. This year we had Angel's Kisses and Christmas Jones cocktails ( these had more juice in them). Last year it was Candy Cane-tini's and Chocpeppermint-tinis and Gingerbread Men shooters! I just search the web for Christmas or holiday cocktails and its amazing what you will find!
