Last year at my annual cookie party I put out a collection jar for "Cookies for Kids Cancer." It's a great charity and during the month of December Glad matches all funds raised from bake sales throughout the country (you just have to register on their website: http://www.cookiesforkidscancer.org). Even though I didn't have a bake sale, it was still nice to use the opportunity of cookie party as a chance to help people in need.
I also remember reading someone else's post on here where they said they give raffle tickets to guests who bring a toy for donation to their party.
Anyone else do anything special to "give back" at their party?

We used to take our extra cookies to our church shut-ins, but many of them are on restricted diets, so that wasn't working. So, this year we are taking them to our volunteer fire dept. I have also asked the ladies to bring extra cookies (of any kind) for them plus refrigerated cookie dough so they can bake cookies at a later date.
One of our ladies has contacted them to make sure they were receptive to the idea and they are very excited about receiving these goodies.
Just our way of saying "thanks" for their service.

Last year our food pantry in town was really low so I asked everyone one to bring a donation. I was able to bring about six or seven big grocery bags of food to the pantry. It's nice to be able to help out a local charity.
