I went duckpin bowling the first time yesterday. The person I went with who bowled one time said any downed pins remaining on the lane must be cleared after each shot.
We were the only ones there doing it, so is this true, I can't find anything on it.

In duckpins all deadwood must be removed, on the lane or in the gutters.

Yes if you do not remove them and a ball hits them there is a chance to break the neck of the pin. I worked at a bowling alley for 5 years, so I have seen a lot of broken pins. I make it a point to always remind bowlers to clear the deadwood. Duckpins are hard enough to find as it is. Thanks for clearing that deadwood. Peggy
