Hi, I will be hosting my first CE!..Very excited, but really don't know if I should have it on a Friday night or Sunday afternoon. What is everyone's opinion?

I do mine on sunday at !pm. Then everyone is fresh and ready to have a good time.To me in the evening every one would want to go home because it was getting late  |

I had mine @ 6p Sun....bad idea. Weather was bad, people didn't get their chores done to make it to the party....too late.
This year, it's in the afternoon!

I like Saturday afternoons because you still have the remainder of your weekend, as will your guests. I think it is interesting seeing the reasons behind the preferred days and time slots for every one's CE parties! |

I do my cookie exchanges on the first Sunday of December every year. I do it on Sunday b/c most of us are young moms and it gives us moms a chance to bake on Saturday while dads are home. and I do it at 2pm so people can do last minute finishing touches, go to church or finish last minute mis-haps. So 2pm on the first Sunday of Decemeber is the cookie exchange every year. Its a date the girls can remember and count on and it is such a great way to ring in December not to mention it forces Christmas to be up and ready quickly.

I have always had mine on a Saturday night beginning around 5:00 that way the ladies don't have to worry about cooking dinner (for themselves anyway). I had it one year the last Sat in November but it was difficult to get a real tree (they started selling them the week later). I have stuck with the 1st Sat in December which works well. I like it in the evening for the tree being lit, candles and the ambience you can bring out with different decor.
