I have heard of cookie swaps before but I have never attended one however, I would like to host an annual cookie swap starting with this year. I love to bake and host parties especially during the holidays. Not sure where to start other than I have starting asking a few friends if they would be interested in a cookie swap. I have gotten a couple of yes and a few maybes so far. I want to make it fun for everyone not just come and swap cookies and go!!
Can anyone help with ideas? Thanks so much

There are many threads on here that discuss each aspect of hosting a party, I'd start with the basics: pick a date, how many to invite, type of menu, ie finger foods or sit down (I do several crock pots of soup to keep it easy), how many cookies for each person to bake, do they bring the cookies already packaged or do the guests just go around the table and pick them. This year will be my fifth year. I use this site and Robin's book to help every year. I start my party with the food so the ladies can chat and relax. We then play games. I usually have three games, with prizes. After games we swap cookies. I ask for 6 dozen (many recipes are 3 dozen per batch, so two batches is doable for most.) It all lasts about 2 hours.
