So what is everyone using? This year I am borrowing from Grimm's fairytales and using the theme Once Upon a Christmas. Participants will be decorating their displays based on their chosen fairytale. Super excited!

I'm getting a super late start, but I think we're going with Christmas in Candy Land. We implemented a new "rule" that whoever is proclaimed Cookie Queen gets to choose the next year's theme. It takes the pressure off of me, and I'm very OK with that!!!
Now I just have to pick a date. LOL - like I said, a bit behind. I've been dealing with medical issues most of this year, so haven't exactly been motivated to plan the party. I almost didn't have one this year, but my husband talked me into it.

This will be our 7th year! We are doing a snowman theme. We don't get too into making it super clever, just something to differentiate the years. Last year, we kept it simple...I had a baby on Monday and our party was Saturday. (Surprisingly, baby and I both made it to the swap). We have done a "cocktail party" and an angel theme one year. The angel theme was in honor of one of our "Girls" who suddenly passed away.

This year we will be celebrating my 10th annual cookie exchange party. Usually I announce next years theme at the end of the party, but last year I let my "Cookie Girls" vote since it was the anniversary year. The theme the girls chose is "Around the World". The ladies that participate go all out in their presentation and dress. So, because I knew my theme, I bought my dress in Mexico when I was there last month. I also bought hand-painted salsa bowls to use to hold my "Mexican Wedding Cookies". At my parties, we do individually wrapped cookie packages instead of everyone just bringing a platter or container of cookies.
I bought some fake "passports" from Oriental Trading and used those for the invitations which will go out next week.

Around the World? What an awesome idea! I'm hosting my 2nd swap this year. Last year everyone had a blast, at first it was an overwhelming thought for most but in the end everyone loved it! I think I may steal your idea!
