Hello, we have 12 duck pin lanes that were installed in 1962 at our bowling center. We are running out of used parts for the pinsetters. Anyone selling any?
Thank you! Mary Ellen General Manager

Mary Ellen:
As I am sure that you are aware, used Sherman pinsetter parts are very difficult to obtain. Unfortunately, it often involves a duckpin center closing for parts to become available for sale. Some duckpin houses have had to resort to having machine shops fabricate parts for them.
I would contact Bob Boshea at (203) 932-3202. Mr. Boshea is the mechanic at the Woodlawn Duckpin Bowling Alley in West Haven, CT . He would not have parts, but I think would be a good source of advice.
Another possibility would be to contact Shirley Pierpont at (301) 772-6565. Ms. Pierpont is an area manager for AMF in the Washington, DC area. AMF closed it's 40 lane Westview center in Baltimore last year. I have heard conflicting reports concerning the fate of that equipment, from that sadly it was all junked, to that at least some it was saved.
AMF has had a reputation in the past to prefer having surplus equipment trashed rather than selling it to a perceived competitor, even if the competitor was hundreds of miles away from their closest center.
AMF did also remove 20 lanes of duckpin equipment from their College Park center in College Park, MD last year. 12 lanes of the equipment were installed at their Laurel house in Laurel, MD. I understand that the remaining 8 lanes of equipment are in storage at their Timonium center in Timonium, MD and their Southwest center in Linthicum, MD. I have heard they are contemplating adding some additional duckpin lanes at Timonium to the 12 that they already have at that location.
I would be very, very surprised if AMF would be willing to sell you parts, but I would still give it a try. Ms. Pierpont may at least be able to give you some tips.
Good luck to you!
Richard

I have a total of 18 Sherman Pinsetters for sale... 2 partially disassembled and 16 that still intact and sitting on mobile frames ready to be moved with a forklift. Plus I have 4 crates of spare parts. I am willing to entertain all reasonable offers. Contact me at rickyaroberts@gmail.com if you are seriously interested.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Joe Sciortino, and I own a manufacturing business in Jessup, Maryland. We have recently begun to manufacture parts for the Sherman pinsetter. Does anyone have a parts diagram, or any documentation, that we could borrow. My goal is to put together a parts catalog, with the original part names/numbers.
Please contact me at 240-294-4434 or drawings@emdm-3d.com
Thank you,
Joe
