Hey Robin Thanks to your web page I finally had the courage to host my first Cookie Exchange Party 3 yrs. ago. The first 2 were so much fun but a little confusing. This year I think the bugs have been worked out. The trick is: EARLY invitations, Very clear rules & early preperation. Each guest is asked to bring ONLY homemade cookies, no chocolate chip. They put a 1/2 dozen cookies in baggies (before they get here), bring 1 dozen on a holiday decorated platter. They also bring enough copies of their cookie recipe for each guest and 1 holiday ornament (from the dollar store) wrapped. This year I will place large holiday gift bags (purchased at the local dollar store) at the door entry way. As each guest arrives she will place 1 baggie per bag. Then we all eat cookies & various drinks including traditional Wassail, we play a game to distribute the wrapped ornaments and visit and laugh. Laughing is the main activity every year! So much fun is had by all that it has been a challenge to keep the guest list at 12-14, EVERYONE wants to come when they hear about it! We all start looking forward to it as soon as the weather gets cold. Thanks again for making your web page so enticing AND informative! Happy Holidays & Yummy Cookies To You. ~D~
