Hi Robin--I just wanted to let you know that I have wanted to be part of a cookie exchange for a couple years now but wasn't sure how to go about it. After finding your site and talking to my hubby about it, I decided to just go for it! Well-I sent my invitations out Thursday and have already gotten 6 responses(I sent 20 invitations).So far no one has wanted to bring the same thing so we are doing good there. I have set the date of Dec.12th from 1-3 for my party.Even though it's short notice everyone seems excited about coming. Only one has ever been to an exchange before. I went to the $1 store and bought snowmen ornaments for everyone bringing cookies as a party favor. I plan on having finger foods and hot spiced cider(as well as other drinks.)I used part of the invitation you have on your site-didn't go all out on the rules-it's all family coming so far-so I figured word of mouth would work just as well--at least I hope so.I did say no c.chip cookies and hopefully no kids. If all goes well this year I might just make it an annual thing. Now let's hope the weather here in Upstate NY holds out! Thanks so much for having such a great site--having my own sites to maintain I know how hard it can be. Your site is by far the best one i've been to--it explains everything in such detail! I've been lurking here on the boards for a few days now and it seems like a nice group of people in your little "community". I'll send pictures of the exchange after it's over. Sorry for rambling--i'm just really excited about the party!! LOL
