Hi. I'm having my first cookie exchange today, and one person called to say that her recipe didn't make enough cookies, so she will only have 36 cookies. The rules clearly stated 6 dozen, and everyone else is bringing six dozen. What do I do? Has anyone else had this situation? Thanks!

Hi Ami, I would have her only take home 3 dozen while everyone else takes home 6 or ask if she would be able to buy the other 3 dozen. I'm not sure what you ended up doing but whatever it was I'm sure it went fine! I was lucky on my 1st party on the 12th, everyone brought 6 dozen like I asked. They had so much fun. I hope yours did as well.

If she says her recipe only makes 3 dozen... I would suggest that she make 2 batches (just like I did!).
I very clearly write on my invitations that they need to bake 6 dozen - 6 x 1 dozen (presented festively on a paper plate or similar).

Suggest that she stop by a bakery and bring another 3 dozen bakery cookies ~ but they should be removed from the store packaging and placed on the platter too. (not store bought). Or - she can only take home 3 dozen.
Come back and tell us how it worked out !
