I am involved in a Mommies group in which most of the members live in 1 city, but some live in the counties North and South of there. So, due to lack of volunteers to host party at their house in the city, I am thinking of having it at a restaurant one Sunday afternoon. Anyone ever encounter this? any suggestions on logistics?

Bethann, you don't say how many people would be attending this swap, but if it's a reasonable number, why not just have them package their cookies in bags of 6 or 3 or whatever number divides equally amoung you all? That way, when you got to the restuarant, all you would have to do is set up bags for each participant and put the already bagged cookies in. Maybe you could get a banquet room...I'm thinking Old Country Buffet type of place. Don't see why it wouldn't work.

There is a lady I know that does this every year with her friends. It is the same ladies (all good friends). I think it is 8 or 10 of them - I know it isn't a lot of ladies. Anyway, they meet at a restaurant for lunch and each bring a basket that contains their cookies (wrapped in cello bags). After the lunch they exchange cookie bags and have their baskets to take them home in.
I think it is sweet because it is the same ladies every year and they get to treat themselves to a nice lunch and a great time with friends.
Some restaurants have side rooms or can at the very least give you a table in a quiet corner. I would start checking around before planning.
