Inquiring minds want to know.....What date & time have you set for your exchange? I'm having mine on Sunday, December 11th @ 2PM. I have had exchanges in the past, but haven't had one in a few years. I moved this past year and my new neighborhood REALLY seems to get in to this type of thing. I'm inviting all the houses on the street (apx. 25). I'd like to keep this just for the neighbors, but my co-workers (who went to my old exchanges) are bugging me to have one for them too. So I may end up doing 2 exchages....Like I have time for that! lol Love this site, but getting anxious for the details of the 2005 exchanges to start rolling in!

This will be my first exchange and I'm a little nervous too! Mine is set for Dec. 10 and I was thinking at first 2:00, but maybe I will change it to 4:00. I don't know quite how to word the invitation. I will probably have 15 or 16 people and I will ask them to bring 6 doz. cookies, but I wanted to set aside 1 doz from each lady to put together to take to a nursing home. So, I'm not sure how to word the invitation, but I'm sure I'll figure something out. I've been anxious to see details of everyone's 2005 exchange too! Jean

My 2nd cookie exchange will be Dec.11th this year from 1-3 p.m. Last year it was on the 2nd Sunday in December at the same time, and it seemed to work out really well for everyone. There were 12 of us, and before all the ladies left, they were asking when it was going to be this year! I plan on inviting the same women this year, plus a couple newbies.I had them bring 6 dozen cookies last year, but upped it to 7 dozen this year and will give out the extras on 2 festive trays-one as a door prize and one to take to the Vets Home where my 105 year old grandmother lives.. I am really thinking about using an idea i've seen on this site a couple of times about buying cookie boxes at a bakery and putting everyone's names on them--seems like it would make it easier to exchange cookies and also to have the extra room on my island for the 7th dozen. I didn't really state why 7 dozen on the invitation, but have pretty much told everyone why I wanted them to bring the 7th dozen this year, and so far everyone has thought it was a good idea.Cindy

:)My 3rd Exchange is set for Friday, Dec 9 at 6 pm ... I have 35 women and we have lots of fun. I type up Christmas Carols and make booklets; collect the recipes ahead of time and give receipe booklets; everyone buys a $15 gift & we play take or steal the gift; Also the left/right game. Add in appetizers, wine, apple cider and peppermint martinis. I ordered invitations online, they came quick & I was happy with them. The exchange is a nice way to kick off the holiday season. Have fun! ;D ;D

My second (hopefully annual) exchange is coming up on December 11th, Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4.I invited 50 people (friends, family, neighbors) and have 21 confirmed bakers coming. That's double what I had last year. I sent out an Evite to everyone on November 3rd so they would save the date. I also sent out about 5 hard copy invites to those without computers. Over the summer, I also set up a website to keep track of the swap info (over the top, I know ). Before Thanksgiving week I already had 20 people say yes. Last year I did Sunday, December 19th from 3-5. I had 14 confirmed and had 11 people show. Since it was only a week before the holidays, the turnout was a bit lower. That's why I moved it to 2 weeks before Christmas. And boy was I surprised by the response! I hope I have enough table space to set up that many cookies! [glow=red,2,300]At 6 dozen each, that's over 1500 cookies![/glow] I added an extra hour because we do a Yankee Gift Swap and it took so long last year. A few people left in the middle. About half of this year's guests will participate. (You can manage the gift swap on the Evite too.) I also moved it earlier in the day so I could do a savory brunch to offset all that sugar in the room!
