Last year I gave everyone a framed christmas poem (the poem was about our town, written by my Dad), and this year I am making a Christmas CD with all my favorite Christmas songs!

Homemade favors that have been big hits:
On year I typed up the "equivalents" section (teaspoons in a tablespoon, etc.) in a long column, put several on a sheet then cut them apart. Laminated them at Kinko's, cut them again with rounded corners: voila, a handy cookbook bookmark.
Last year I bought some bagels, and cut them in half. Smeared each half with peanut butter, and dipped it in birdseed. I froze them (on a cookie sheet) so they wouldn't be sticky. Then I tied a ribbon with a long loop through each one, and put them in plastic bags. Wonderful winter birdfeeders to hang outside a kitchen window.

Some favor ideas from my past swaps include:
1. votive candles (christmas cookie or gingerbread scents) packaged in decorative gift bags with a gingerbread ornament tied to package.
2. gingerbread cookie cutter ornaments with chocolate in shape of ornament. Easy to make - buy the cutout cookie cutters and melt chocolate to fill the interior of the cookie cutter. Add mini-candies for eyes, buttons, etc. and package in decorative bag with curly string.
3. there are a lot of inexpensive candles and ornaments that are themed to gingerbread or cookies. I also found gingerbread-themed mini-scrapbooks with stickers last year.

Hello:
I am so glad in the heat of July I am not the only one starting to plan for my cookie exchange.
I found a favor idea on the internet: you take a whisk, and fill the wisk with Hershey's kisses, put a little ribbon on it and a tag that says We whisk you a Merry Christmas.
It is corny, but real cute and the gals can use the whisk for their cooking.
I believe the site is called Organized Christmas.
