This year will be my first Christmas Cookie Exchange. I'm very excited because I've been wanting to do this for about 3 years now, but I've never even been to one. That's why I'm really getting an early start gathering information. I'm trying to cover all the bases so I would like to take a poll to see how many hours each one of you allow. I will be having mine on a Saturday so I can go on for ever how long as need be. The people I will be inviting love to gather together so I don't think it will matter if it goes a little long. I also want to incorporate many of the ideas I've seen on this site. I love all of the information from everyone that has posted. Thank you all so much for all of your help so far. Linda in FL.

Hello Linda! Your cookie party can go on as long as you want it to. This year will be my 3rd and they go from 2 1/2 to 3 hours. I have mine on Sundays to give the girls time to bake so therefore I keep the time short. It allows time to talk, play games eat and sample all those cookies! You'll get a feel for when it's time to wrap it up and if it's earlier then you said, no one will really notice the time anyway. Have fun and good luck... Tara in AZ.

Hi Linda!! I will be hosting my 4th exchange this December. Each year I make mine earlier and earlier, never enough time. I am planning on 5 hours for this year. I have it after work on a Friday, so I am starting at 5:30 pm. the majority will leave around 11:00 - 11:30. We eat and drink first; exchange our cookies; play 2 games; sing Christmas carols; Santa comes & gives out gifts; coffee & dessert and everyone leaves happy and filled with the holiday spirit. I am planning mine already for 2006 ! Just have fun and be organized, it helps! :) ;) :D ;D
