Why not. Call it a Harvest Cookie Exchange. I usually bag my cookies separately at the party (zip lock bags). This way one cookie doesn't take on the flavor of another. Then take them home and freeze for later use. The frozen cookies will last well into December.

Debbie & Bonnie - I wanted to do a cookie swap in November also, what a great idea about the name, Bonnie. I'm going to use that. Also, I'm going to go to Michael's and get some pumpkins / craft things and make some good hearty food to make it a real Harvest Effect.
I'm thinking about doing it the Weekend before Thanksgiving.

I had mine early December, and most guest said they were happy that it was early, so they didn't have other functions they had to say no to. I just give a 'hint' in my invitations that most people will be freezing their cookies for a few weeks, so please consider that some types of cookies don't freeze well (most recipes indicate counter and freezer shelf life).
