has anyone ever invited over 5 friends for a baking party? afterwards the exchange will happen just the same. but i thought it would make sense to have a few friends over, each bringing ingredients for one or two kinds of cookies or treats, and we make them all together. obviously a full afternoon event.
i have a decent sized kitchen, and can provide most making and decorating tools that are needed. i think it will work if i get a good list of what everyone is bringing/recipes ahead of time.

Truthfully, it will probably be chaotic to try to bake with 5 people trying to work in the same workspace. I think you may be pretty frazzled by the time you host the exchange! I baked with one friend and it was kind of nuts! We were gabbing and losing our place in the recipe, etc.! Whatever you decide, good luck!

It would work if you are all baking and decorating the same type of cookies (say the sugar cookies). I think the decorating is the fun part anyway.
I have a friend that use to do a baking/cookie exchange party. Everyone brought the dough ready to be put on the pans and baked. It was an all day thing and exhausting. I don't think they do this anymore.
Whatever you decide you will enjoy each others company.
