My guests are e-mailing me their recipes ahead of time so that I can compile a book to give them the night of the party. I'm just wondering the logistics of how you put them together. Do you type them and use regular size copy paper, put them all on index cards or what do you do? I'm not sure how to do this.

I make booklets. I do a page set up on micosoft - I pick "landscape" and I pick "two pages per sheet". I type the receipes ( or copy and paste). I add christmas pics. I also create a cover for the booklet with christmas pics. I then print all the copies of the receipes and make copies back and front, fold and staple. The hardest thing is finding christmas pictures!

The first year I hosted a swap, I did just as the previous poster did. But then when we decided to make it a yearly thing, I decided to simplify the process. I bought everyone a three ring binder and decorated the front. Then I just printed the recipes and put them into plastic page protectors. Now this year, all I have to do is print the recipes, and the guests can take them home and put them in their books.

I am hosting my first cookie exchange next Saturday, and I am putting these together as favors. I have had to hound a few people, but they will be very cute. I found this great website, where you can buy downloadable templates for Word and Acrobat Adobe. I bought both Winter collections, and then they email them to you. It was completely worth it, and very easy to use. I am printing of the 4x6 size, but you will also get the 3x5 size. Here's a link: artabundia.com/recipe_card_templates.shtml

you can also do a google search for free recipe templates and print some out on caed stock. I found some cute ones. Most are 3 to a page also, saves some time there too
