Hell, there was a bunch of 'em!!!! My all time favorite and I still listen to it almost daily is "Drift Away" by Dobie Gray. Then you got the Spinners, Leon Redbone, et al. Luckily, I have hundreds of songs from the 70's burned onto CD's. Back then, groups could play songs that actually had more than 3 guitar chords in them. No stinkin rap music and no scream rock like whats playing now. My latest thing now is 70's pinball machines. 'member those? Back then, there was no nintendo or xbox or cell phones or internet. You made your own fun with friends and you were never home!!!

Remember Barry White's instrumental song called "Love's Theme"? I always called it "The Golf Song" because they would play it on televised golf tournaments on weekend games.

The Entire Captain Fantastic Album, remember how cool that cover was ? Rush 2112, Hotel California. The summer of 77 and Foreigners "Feels Like the First Time" and it was for me that summer Just the most amazing decade for album oriented music. I'm glad I was in my teens during mid and last part of the decade... There was just such diversity between artists but it was all good !!! My collection ranged from Led Zep to Bread and Gordon Lightfoot...

Hi, You seem to remember quite a bit. I had a 45, on Cameo records. The name of the song was (I think) Knock Knock. It was from the late 60's ot early 70's. Does anyone remember this? I would love to know who sang it and how to find a copy. Thanks.........

The 70 as a musical era really spand over a three periods. Just like the 60's and the 80's If you had a radio you would turn it on and some kind of a new sound was always setting your ears on fire. For me the 70's was left over 60's, garage band sound i'e early ZZ top, stones and a host of others. midway through the sounds of the 70's became more polished IE Al stewart year of the cat, fleetwood mac and so on.... and then... Disco and don't forget punk and new wave got it's start in the late 70's not the 80's Debbie Harrys' heart of glass which wasa big hit was released i think in 78 or 79 correct me if I am wrong? Not to mention a tons more new wave zipper bands.
But I do digress.. My fav 70's song is still my fav sond today. and the winner is..... I'm not in love - 10cc For some reason the song just means the world to me. I had just gotten my First STEREO and we all know how cool that was. Ahhh the joy of headphones when you were going to bed.... ;D

Oh wow, "I'm Not in Love", 10CC.. What an incredible song, haven't thought about it in years. Has some of the most memorable lyrics. You are correct about Blondie too, they definitely broke in 70's.
How about Argent's "Hold Your Head High".. Classic 70's rock song in all areas...
