what is this movie????

I recall a movie (70's I think) about a disc jockey (can't remember who played him) and he was out in the middle of nowhere broadcasting his overnight show - the song "Layla" by Derek and the Dominos was playing and he took his microphone outside and recorded the thunder while the song played....anybody else remember this movie??"

I think it was called "Blowout" with John Travolta. Maybe? maybe not. I remember he was a sound efx specialist and needed sound of a thunderstorm and took his equipment out and recorded a particularly violent one. It was a movie from Director, Brian DePalma in the late 70's.
