Good day everyone! Does anyone know the brand of musk oil that was so popular in the early 70's. I think it was in a black roll on type of bottle...

Hi, Suzanne, just found your post. Are you talking about Coty Wild Musk? I loved that stuff!

:)Well Pamela I'm not sure. But now that you mention it, maybe it is Coty Wild Musk. I just loved this too, and can't find it anywhere. Jovan Musk Oil came out shortly after, but just didn't match the scent of the "little black bottle". Thanks for your help; I'll keep it in mind.

I just did a search on Coty's Wild Musk, and thats not it Pamela. It used to be in a black, roll on bottle with a silver cap and had the male/female symbol on the front.

There was also a musk oil we used to wear in my part of the country (South Texas) in the late 60's and early 70's. It was called "Ambergris" and it was really nice and sweet smelling perfect for the juvenile that I was HOWEVER...I learned later on as an adult that I was in effect, wearing processed whale blubber. Yes, Nanook..WHALE BLUBBER.
Eskimos dug me.

The only thing I remember with a roll on was Tickle deo...and it did tickle. Tickle deo, Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific shampoo, and Bonny Bell astringent (gosh that stuff stung!) were the manditory items in my bathroom. My mom used to buy me Wind Song ("...Wind Song stays on your mind...") perfume, but I didn't care for it much.

My older sister use to slather it on and my Dad would hate the smell...said it was suppose to smell like sex or sex glands. LOL those were the days

But people still pay big bucks for the real....BARF.

The black glass bottle was Houbigant musk oil the bottle had the female/male symbol on it. I have not been able to find it anywhere. It was the best musk oil and lasted a long time.
