-Does anyone remember a 70's Christmas special or movie called "The House Without a Christmas Tree" ? I believe the story revolved around a household in which the mother had passed away and the father had since forbid getting a tree. I was pretty young so I may be confusing the plot a bit. I just remember it being sort of a downer.

Thanks, Paula. I visited the IMDB link and discovered that I was just 4 years old when I saw this. That would explain why I only picked up on the dark mood of the film, rather than it's true meaning and eventual happy ending.

I remember that show. I sympathised with the little girl, because I grew up in a Jehovahs Witness household, and I couldnt have a christmas tree either. Christmas was my least favorite time of year as a child.
