60's snack

Hiya,
For years I've been trying to figure this out and while some say it sounds familiar, no one remembers the name.
There was this toaster pastry (much like pop-tarts, without the frosting)
that had animal cut-outs on the top and i remember one flavor was chocolate elephant. i even remember part of the commercial where a jungle explorer proclaims "chocolate elephants" i think there was some kind of berry monkey as well. Anybody?

How many of us remember this foil wrapped classic treat in our lunch boxes? ;D

I remember all the OTHER kids had them. They would relish them as if they were food from the gods.

Oh yeah! Nothing like a desert treat for lunch, considering those who had mom's who made sandwiches that were too gross even to trade! LOL! ;D

Like Liverswurst??? Yuck. Or PepperLoaf? I don't know which was worse. I considered Bologna a blessing.

Heeheehee! Now that tunes going to be stuck in my head the rest of the day. I know the company brought back this old jingle, but my kids were astonished when I told them that they played this jingle when I was a kid, too. They said, "Really? Is it THAT old? This stuff must be dinosaur meat!"

Remember the Band Aid commercial jingle? And when they sold them in tins? instead of cardboard boxes. I used to keep my checker pieces and jacks in them.

Not to mention the ole time classic.....

Oscar Meyer magic wiener whistle


Remember when Oscar Meyer used to put their wiener whistles in every pack of Oscar Meyer wieners? ;D I was fortunate enough to meet Oscar Meyer one time as a kid. We were just finishing up our errands around town when I happened to spot the Oscar Meyer wiener mobile parked outside our local supermarket. We just had to check it out and went inside, right to the meat department. There he was as big a life, or should I say as small as life. He was the actor who portrayed Oscar Meyer and a bunch of kids were all around him. He ended up giving everybody those whistles. It was really cool!

I remember back in the summer of 1969 when the Apollo 11 landed on the moon. That was really incredible! I also remember wanting to be an astronaut and be up there on the moon. I used to love eating those space food sticks and drinking all that Tang because of the NASA endorsement. That sure was an amazing time in history!





During that wonderful summer, I also loved eating Kool Pops when the weather was hot. Blue was my favorite. ;D



Anybody here remember Scooter pies? Always a tasty treat! ;D



Another favorite snack of mine was those Screaming Yellow Zonkers. The box reminded me of something Peter Max would do, or the look of the Beatles yellow submarine. They were great!

I liked Tang...dry. My sister and I would lick our fingers, stick it in the tang, and eat it up that way. Good ol' pucker power. Not to mention the orange stain on your fingers.

does anyone remember when the wrappers on Drakes Yodels were blue foil with silver stars? if you took the time and smoothed all the creases out, it would look pretty cool.
it was so much better than the 2-to-a-pack wrapped in clear plastic of today
