the song lasted about a week at number 1 on the billboards. my dad, Larry Gonsky, was the keyboardist in that song and in that band, Looking Glass. it's pretty cool, cause all of my teachers are like "oh i loved that song! i would sing it while it played on the radio!". a lot of other people freak out when they find out my dad was part of it. the song may have marked the band a "one hit wonder", but i think they were pretty good.

Yea, I remember it, It was one of my favorite songs. When it comes on the radio to this day, I sing along, and I remember most of the words! Just another example of how the songs of the 70's were the absolute best.

the lead singer (elliot lurie) had a girlfriend named randy. they also enjoyed the drink brandy. so it was like a combination of the two.
