I tryed zooming in on the DVD, no good. None of the books I have mention this, nothing on the web. If you think you know, could you cite your source? (yes, I am a nut!!)

:)In a article copywrited 2006 from "Autograph Collector", Richard Goodson of Illinois describes his vast collection of memorobilia from IAWL which includes the actual National Geographic used in the film. I emailed him and he said the magazine is October 1913. He also has Violet's earrings. It is a fascinating article. www.autographcollector.com/2006%20Dec/wonderful.html

The link didn't work. Go to eBay and search for:

Sorry I haven't been here in a while...The actual issue is October 1919; that's 1919. Our friend above may have mistyped or may have been given the wrong info non-maliciously of course! You can see for your self if you have access to one of them new-fangled hugemoungous television screens. As you may already know, the year is blanked out on the issues used in the movie, would have neen very noticeable as out of sync on the big screen. First, grab a scan of the October 1919 issue on Ebay. There always seems to be at least one there (no, I don't sell them). Then, go to the really big TV screen, hopefully with the 60th Anniversary edition DVD, and ya gotta get right to where he shows that mag to his young lady friend. It's probably gonna take ya a few trys... Eventually you will freeze it right where you can make out end portions of the first lines from the cover of the October 1919, thats 1919 issue of N.G. "Vanishing People of South Seas" and Mexican Land of Canaan". Yes, I am a loon when it comes to some of this minor, totally irrelevant stuff, but what can I say, it's a hobby! Email me @ cheeseboy36@hotmail.com and let me know how you make out, eh?
