This year will be my 4th cookie exchange party and I am looking for some suggestions for a theme. Last year everyone had to make Wintertime Treats and come dressed in pj's and slippers. We had great cookie recipes - Chocolate Candy Cane Cookies, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup cookies, Eggnog Spritz cookies,, Gingersnaps,Hazelnut-Raspberry cookies, Hershey S'mores bars, Holiday Snowmen, Hot Chocolate cookies, Lemon Cutouts, Peanut Blossoms, Peppermint Snowballs and Starlight Mint cookies. I am looking for another theme for this year - HELP!

How about the Candy Land Theme. Cookie ideas can be based on the Characters of the board game. For Example, Grandma Nut or Mr. Mint.

You could do a woodland/rustic theme, santa's workshop, the nutcracker, A Christmas Carol, Victorian Christmas (lots of lace), International..bring cookies from your heritage etc.

I had my party yesterday (12/6/08). This year my theme was How the Grinch Stole Christmas . Guest were asked to use green decorations for cookies this year, Grinch out their cookie containers, and to keep cookies small (about an an inch to inch and a half) so as to represent his stinginess.
After having some very Grinchy toned snacks we had an ugly Christmas Sweater contest, played the Left/Right game to the Night Before Christmas, and teamed up for Grinch song trivia. However, the big hit was the decor. My daughter had made a zombie for an installation art project at school for Halloween. With a Santa hat and fake fur he was transformed from zombie to Grinch for the cookie table.
The plan for next year is to go with a mystery theme perhaps What Happened to the Gingerbread Man?

I LOVE these these ideas!!! I think this truly adds to the fun and excitement. Everyone is in anticipation to see what everyone else will bring...how awesome! I might have to borrow the "What Happened to the Gingerbread Man?" theme for next year . Thanks for sharing
