Hi Everyone! I have used Robin's site for a long time but just got the nerve to join Robin's Web. I had my first successful cookie exchange December 2007. We are going to a Christmas in July party and I wanted to make a book out of the recipes that we had at the party and wrap it like a Christmas present and give it to the girls and remind them to keep the date open for this years party. I need help making the book. Any ideas that you could share with me would be greatly appreciated. I had gingerbread as my party theme and will use that for every year. I have plenty of gingerbread decorations and thought that would make it easier every year if I had a theme. Pictures of my party are posted. Thank you for any ideas. I know I am going to like it here.

I have been having cookie exchanges for over ten years, and finally I put together a cookie cookbook of all the winning recipes, and other great ones . I found discounted holiday stationary, and put the collection together on my home computer. I had them bound at the print shop, but red or green folders would be festive too! Everyone loved them at the next party, and I still get requests for more. Good luck!

THANK YOU for encouraging me. I did not get the books done in July as i came down with Trigeminal Neuralgia, during which time I had oral surgery for an infected tooth and the following day I fell off our second floor deck breaking my arm in two places, broken ribs and many bumps and bruises. I just had surgery on my arm on Wed and trying to get use to this external fixater or what ever it is they attached to my arm. My husband is going to have back surgery tomorrow morning. We are never sick and so this will be interesting recovering together! I am still planning on doing the book and will give it to them at my second cookie exchange. Any ideas for putting it together will be helpful. Did you have a cover story, index or pictures? thanks Georgeann

This year will be my 3rd annual Cookie Exchange. Each year I have given guests a cookbook of all the recipes that are being traded that year. When guests RSVP they are to email me the recipe. This way, I don't have any doubles either. One of the prizes I hand out goes to the first person to RSVP with their recipe!! I bind my cookbooks on a binding machine. But you could certainly punch two holes at the top and tie together with a festive ribbon.

Hi again and thanks to all that replied to my message. I am still going to therapy for my arm and my husband has recovered nicely from his back and knee surgery. What a summer! I finally put my recipe book together today. I put a group picture from last years party on the front, everyone's recipes from last year and a picture of the big Gingerbread cookie on the inside back cover. I punched holes and bound it together with gold ribbon. I decorated the front cover with stickers and randomly added some to the recipe pages. I also have a gingerbread stamp and may add a few stamps here and there. I was very pleased with the way it turned out. I ask the girls to include a copy of the recipe with each dozen of cookies. I have 10 girls and each brings 10 doz. Next year I will ask them to email the recipe to me and then I will give them the book for that years recipes. This is my second year and the girls are so excited and I am amazed at how they are getting competitive with the presentation. Thanks to Robin for giving me the courage to have the party.
