I am hosting my second cookie swap this year and putting a twist on it. My brother is in the service and has been deployed to Iraq this year. So instead of my guest just bringing cookies and leaving with them this year, we are going to do "care boxes" for his unit. Would love feed back ideas for invitation wording or opinions on the idea.

Hi Your idea is a great one. My brother has done 3 tours in Iraq and he said that the guys receiving mail or packages. He said that many don't receive anything. Unfortunatley because of some problems with hate mail to soldiers they don't like you doing to any soldier. It's great that you and your friends are doing this. Good Luck and thank you for supporting our soldiers.

This is a really nice idea. As the host, I always have many cookies leftover after every guest takes there allotted amounts. (People bake a few extra all the time!) I usually box them up and give them to postal workers, teachers, etc...but I could certainly send them to soldiers. Do you have an address for those that want to send some holiday cookies? Is there a certain protocol for sending food items? Thanks! Tracey
