I was thinking about hosting a party for the holidays. I started to surf the web for party ideas, when I came across this website. In the past I have heard of a Cookie Swap but I have never attended one. I am just amazed at all the information!!! I am so excited to be hosting my very first Cookie Swap Party. This website has opened my eyes to the world of Cookie Swap. I only hope that my party will be as successful as all of yours!!

I also just happened upon this site! While working out I over heard the trainer asking someone to help out decorating her house for her cookie swap. That is when I started looking into it. I have always wanted to have a party around Christmas, but never knew what or how to go about it. I am very impressed with this website and all the ideas. Thank you everyone for all the ideas and info.

This will be my first cookie exchange and I am just wondering a couple of things. 1st, does it really matter how many cookies each person brings? I figure each guest will take home the exact amount they brought. For example if I have each person bring 4 dozen cookies, each person will take 4 dozen assorted cookies home. Is this correct? 2nd, do we go around the table and add cookies to our baskets until all cookies are gone? Any info would be great. Thanks alot

This is also my first Cookie Exchange...any thoughts on what you do at the exchange? Play games or just socialize or what?

The party will go by very quickly just with socializing, eating and cookie swapping. In order to get a game or two in --you have to have a game plan. This means being authoratative and getting everybody's attention, which can be hard if you have 20+ women scattered through out 4 different rooms, like I do. It's fun to add games. Gather everyone one into one room. Explain the rules of the game, proceed! Give little prizes, women can be very competitive! heheh. Game ideas here on my site... I recommend the Left/Right Game as a good beginner game. www.cookie-exchange.com/party_games/index.html
