Hello everyone. Wonderful website. I live in a small town in Florida, just outside of Tampa and have been baking dozens and dozens of cookies for the Troops for quite some time now. I am a member of a larger organization that has been sending home baked cookies to the Troops for over 18 years (am not sure if I can post the link here). The Founder has been decorated by Pres. Busch and she was featured on the Martha Stewart show several times. Most of our Troops know of this organization and the requests for cookies keep piling up. I am looking for people in my neck o' the woodz who love to bake. I placed many ads on the internet. I get many responses, I give them detailed info on the organizations, and only 1 or 2 people really bake a few batches of cookies, never to be heard of again. I have given them thank you cards, I forward the thank you e-mails from the Troops to them, make copies of the real thank you letters I get in the mail, etc etc. I have asked several churches if they would be interested in doing something, but to no avail. I am wondering if any of you have better ideas for me. There MUST be people in Tampa who would like to organize a cookie swap. Where did you all find the ladies to invite to your cookie swap party? Were they all family members, colleagues, neighbours? I'd love to know.l Thank you so much in advance.

Hi Karin,
I'm new to the board but been lurking around in here forever! I live in North Carolina, been here 7 years & been trying to make friends but am having a rough time. lol I have a big walk thru at my house for Halloween, last year we had 350 people & they come thru the house as we decorate every room. I thought for sure with all those Mom's & Grandma's that came through that I would be able to round up some gals to have a cookie exchange at Xmas. I so looked forward to planning the exchange, actually I had all the plans ready to go with just one exception>>>>No Cookie Bakers!!!lol
I think may be thats what we need....is for Robin to put in a section where gals who come to this site can find others who come here that love to bake & would love to get together but just cannot find each other.
I even tried at the beauty shop where a lot of women hang out but still even with the help of the gals that do my hair & nails I still could not get enough women together to have the swap. Its hard for me to meet people cause I work at home. I've recently started a halloween prop building group where we are getting together once a month to build props for our (but its all men)haunts for halloween also I'm going to a family dance hall on Sat. nights where we are meeting a lot of people so there is perhaps hope in the future I can have my big dream cookie swap!!!lol
Still I would love to see something here on this board where we share a common interest in this. Anybody looking to add a cookie baker to their group>>>>>I'm available!lol I'm in Linwood, NC just outside of Lexintgon!!

Is there a way to find out if there is a group of cookie makers in the South East Kansas area that may need a baker. Being former Army and the fact the hubby spent 18 months overseas I would love to pack up another care package or two to send over to the guys/gals. Missing getting to pack up a box of cookies to send. If so let me know please.
