LOOKING FOR HOSTESSES WILLING TO INVITE LOCAL WOMEN TO THEIR COOKIE PARTIES!
Over the years many people have asked me if I knew of cookie swaps they could join. While I have heard from many gals that want to join swaps, I never hear from hostesses offering to invite people, ok... strangers... Let this thread be the place where swappers can meet up!
If you have an account with this message board you can email other members through the system. Otherwise leave your email address so people can contact you.
If you're looking for a swap, state your locality and hopefully someone will contact you!
"A stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet!"

Oh My Goodness! Robin this is great!!
I been trying for so long to find a group of ladies to have a cookie exchange. In your 2007 pictures there is a hostess from here in Lexington, NC but its kind of hard to get yourself invited as many of these gals have waiting lists made up of their friends to join their cookie exchanges.
Also when I tried to discuss having a cookie exchange at the beauty salon I was kind of made fun of because I had talked about your guidelines that you follow to make sure the ladies all have a nice experience & the thing I confronted the most was that the gals were all trying to give me suggestions instead of just being invited & abiding by the guidelines.
Prior to moving here I was a very big party giver & people loved my parties. I am one to agree with you wholeheartedly Robin that when I read your party guidelines I understood the reasoning behind each one of them. I just want to add that everyone bringing a baked cookie & the correct amount makes for a fair party for all of us.
I understand how important it is that if you bake nice cookies that you in turn want to take nice cookies home. SO I'm trying to say that I was looking for ladies that would read your guidelines & "Get Them" right away. I could tell from the beauty shop "IT" definately would not be my style of party but more theirs. They disagreed with all that we discussed!lol
I owned a diner in the past for 11yrs. & we had parties there for the community every month. I come from a family where our Gram always had lots of friends & she had monthly parties where she baked & cooked.
These days I have people from my halloween forum say I was crazy to invite all my trick-r-treators & their families thru our house for a tour & most recently I have started a halloween prop building group & these folks are all people I have never met in person from my halloween forum. I'm really not afraid to invite strangers to my house.
We just had our 2nd halloween meeting & there were people at the 2nd meeting that came that did not make it to the 1st meeting but one thing they all had in common is they are just wonderful people. So I hope I can have this good a luck finding wonderful gals to share a cookie exchange with!
I will love being the host cause we decorate as much for Xmas as we do for halloween & we love to cook & entertain!! Please any ladies in my area that agree that Robin has set up good guidelines to make sure that everyone has a wonderful experience & delicious cookies to take home.....please contact me:
Debbie Sexton collins1219@aim.com I reside in Linwood, NC just outside of the BBQ capital of the World....Lexington!
I so look forward to hearing from you ladies & hope we can form a good size group!

What a great idea. Always looking for a few new friends and bakers to include in the group. I gave my group the chance to invite their friends last year and this year the will take me up on it. But I think I will include my name and email so if any one in or around the South East Kansas area happens across this and wants an invite they can email me and I will include them. I live and hour from Joplin, MO and just 10 minutes from Oklahoma. Samantha sks_qtpie@yahoo.com

Hi, I've only done a couple (rather unsucessful) swaps since moving to this area 30+ yrs. ago. But now I have Robin's wonderful guidelines, I'm looking for other women in the Red Deer, AB, Canada area to either add me to their list, or join me at my house for a cookie swap this coming Christmas (2009). Many thanks, Jackie My email is: jacalyn.miller@gmail.com. I'm a mom, grandma, health researcher/grad student; and rather obsessive cookie baker ;)

I'm in Menasha, Wisconsin and going on my 3rd annual cookie party. Last year I had 20ish people at my party, and at the end of the party, they were asking what the date was for next year's party so they could make sure it's on their calendar! We've always got room for a few more, so if anyone in the Fox Valley area needs a cookie swap party to attend, email me at angiebaby826@yahoo.com Great idea, Robin! Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions!

I am in Australia (where Cookie Exchanges seem to be virtually unknown... except in some small pockets!). I decided to do my bit to change that in my corner of the world and have had a Christmas Cookie Exchange for about 8 or 9 years now. All have been a HUGE success but I did modify the way I organised it after the first year. Since then... I am not sure if a world map can be included here. If not I just wanted you to be aware that here in AUSTRALIA I host an annual Cookie Exchange.

I would love to have newcomers in Williston, North Dakota. We usually swap in December. I might have two exchanges this year, depending on the numbers. I will accept anyone, but we are usually a group of busy moms (or grandmoms!) that want a variety of good cookies without all the fuss. tracey@wil.midco.net
