Saturday August 8, at Town Hall Lanes, candlepin bowler Bob Whitcomb bowled in his first duckpin pro tour. He came out just fine in the qualifying round with a 8 game total of 1236 and making the cut. We'll see how he does on Sunday. Good luck Bob.

Maybe this will get more candlepin bowlers to join the Duckpin Pro Tour.

Ya, Bob bowled great all day -- including a match play win over Don Dove, albeit a low-scoring one -- Dove started off with, I think, five consecutive opens, which does not happen very often! Still, Bob needed a mark in the last frame to pull it out, and dropped a hammer, en route to a 3rd-place finish overall. Probably the best result in recent memory by someone using house balls! :-D
