I ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT SONG WAS "ME AND YOU AND A DOG NAMED BLUE" MY MOM'S BEST FRIEND HAD A DOG NAMED BLUE IN THE 70'S WHEN I WAS A KID, MAYBE THAT'S WHY I THOUGHT THAT. BEING A MOM OF TWO TEENAGE GIRLS THE SONG "HANG ON SLOOPY" OFFTEN COMES TO MY MIND OR AT LEAST THE CHORUS DOES ANYWAY.
SMILES IN CALIFORNIA!

Last week I heard "Day after Day" by Badfinger on the radio and memories of my girlfriend from HS started shooting through my head. I had some very specific and visual memories just from that one song... Too wierd

FOGHAT's "Fool for the City" "Slow Ride" & "Stone Blue", absolutely anything by AEROSMITH, BADCO, FOREIGNER, HUMBLE PIE, UFO, AC/DC & of course the ALLMAN BROS., OUTLAWS, BLACKFOOT, MOLLY HATCHET, MTB, & the CDB. Lots of rockin' tunes. The young kids really love that stuff even today. Let's not forget ROBIN TROWER & PAT TRAVERS. Oh....and BOB SEGER (before the Silver Bullet Band). There's soooo many & not nearly enough space. Don't forget the EAGLES & DOOBIE BROS. Rock on.....and on.....and on.....

Here are some more early 70's tunes for you Robin..from the drug addled memory of LK (it was hard to be a teen in the 70's and a 20-something in the 80's and NOT be drug addled)
Motorcycle Mama/ Sailcat Ben/ Michael Jackson One Tin Soldier/ Coven (featuring some chick named "Jinx") At one point, in my early teens I thought Billy Jack was THEE best movie ever made. Deliciously militant. I saw the flick recently an as adult and watched actor Tom Laughlin methodically take off his boots and socks in prelude to an "ass whippin" and now all I can think about is how his feet must've smelled. Silly movie.
Don't Say You Don't Remember/ Beverly Bremers Free Ride/ Edgar Winter Frankenstein/ Edgar Winter Old Fashioned Love Song/ Three Dog Night Hello It's Me/ Todd Rundgren Leroy/ Todd Rundgren Me and Mrs. Jones/ Billy Paul How Do You Do/ Mouth and McNiel Diamond Girl/ Seals and Crofts I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing/ New Seekers Oh Girl/ Chi Lites Have you Seen Her?/ Chi Lites Its Too Late/ Carol King Anticipation/Carly Simon Bless the Beasts and the Children/ Carpenters (title song from a movie of the same name, starring Billy Mumy of TV's "Lost in Space")
I know there's more but my memory is too drug addled. Shalom ya'll!

;Dthe song "signs", it was my favorite when I was a freshman in highschool. And the sign said long hair freaky people need not apply, so I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went into ask him why, he said you look like a fine outstanding young man I think you'll do, then I took off my hat and said imagine that, me working for you, OH OH, sign, sign, everywhere a sign, blocking out the scenery, breaking my mind. Do this, dont do that, cant you read the sign. (wow its the best.) jo

For some odd reason Jerry Rafferty's "Baker Street" popped into my head yesterday. I think the warmer weather stirred an old memory of that song. I remember how huge it was in the summer of 77 or 78... Will always be an awesome song....

Anything by " Chicago ".
Saturday in the park 25 or 6 to 4 Feeling stronger everyday
There was one song in particular that that was the staple of all the sweet 15's that I danced in.............."Color my world".
Chicago was the first group i ever saw in concert when I was 17 in 1974.
Also, allot of " Bad Company " makes me feel good, the Doobie Brothers as well as Deep Purple also.
My favorite group of all time, CSN made their best music during the 70's.
On another note since I am Cuban I really remember the REAL Salsa music that came out of New York in the 70's.
The Fania All stars were the best and I spent allot of time dancing away to Celia Cruz and El Gran Combo at the Palladium in Hollywood.
I am into Jazz now and still listen to Salsa but God I miss the 70's.
To me, despite the Social relevance of the late 60's and all the great music of that era the 70's were the best decade for music.

Panama Red is one I find looping thru my head quiet often. "Panama Red, Panama Red He'll steal your woman, then he'll rob your head Panama Red, Panama Red On his white horse, Mescalito He come breezin' through town I'll bet your woman's up in bed with Panama Red"

Hi Peacefulbiker, the song you are referring to is actually called Rocky, and a guy called Austen Roberts sang it in the 70s, not sure what the year was. Great song though, I have a vinyl somewhere in my attic! Anyone remember Brandy by Looking Glass, that was also a great song!!

Hey Lesley, If you are into the song "Brandy" check out the topic on this site "remember that '72 hit "Brandy You're a Fine Girl". The author of the topic's Dad was the keyboardist on the song.

Blue Oyster Cult "Don't Fear the Reaper"......................1978.........also brings up visions of Michael Myers wearing a Willian Shatner mask and raising a butcher knife up in the air in one of the best films ever.........in my opinion.........1978's 'Halloween'
