All the Leaves are brown and the sky is grey, I've been for a walk on a winter's day. I'd be safe and warm if I was in L.A. California Dreamin' --Momma's & the Poppas. Just that kind of day!!!! gray and cloudy This song is from @ 1966! I was in high school then.

A whole lot of you guys and gals mention songs from the mid-sixties and on, i.e. California Dreamin', Whiter Shade of Pale, etc. You obviously aren't old enough to actually remember these songs, or just listen to the oldies station. I graduated high school in 1969, had very long red hair, wore bell bottoms pants, hip-hugger pants, mini-skirts, chunky heeled shoes (platforms were popular in the 70's), went to two outdoor rock concerts (Kickapoo Creek near Peoria, IL on Memorial Day weekend 1970, and one that was supposed to be in Galena, IL, but residents complained, and it was moved to Wadena, IA in July 1970. So, if you are my age, you will remember all this, and more.

Chevy Van, Summer Breeze, Please Come to Boston, Come Monday... I still have the sheet music for Guitar for Please come to Boston. You have great taste. All the songs you mention were beautiful pieces.

I loved all the music. Even the BG's. They were incredibly talented. My first album was Sailor by the Steve Miller Band with the cut "Livin in the USA". Anyone remember Jade Warrior and their best album I think was Last Autumn's Dream? Anyone for Firesign Theatre? Or Savoy Brown? IT goes on and on.

Some of the songs that I associate with the 70's are...Rock the Boat, I Got a Nickle (not sure if this is the exact title), Brandy, Song Sung Blue, The Candyman, ABC, Listen to What the Man Says, the songs that "The Brady Family..the Silver Platters!!" sang...When It's Time to Change, etc..., Saturday Night.
I could go on forever!! I was born in 1963 so the 70's was my era, for sure.

Three Dog Night, 'Momma Told Me Not To Come.' Maureen McGovern, 'The Morning After' (The Poseidon Adventure) Majority of the music was pretty good... 'Stayin' Alive', 'Night Fever,' Bee Gees 'Last Dance,' Donna Summer...boy did we have some good songs or not??? They can't do that, they just have what we had then. We had a special era all our own.

Doesn't anyone here realize that 87% of the children conceived between 1979 and 1980 were conceived to a Barry White song?
