As you all know we live in the best part of the USA! What can't we do? The culture, the museums, the restaurants, numerous sports teams... the 4th largest economy in the country, which says a lot for such a little state. We've got the Ocean, the Chesapeake Bay, the best crabs and seafood food, the Baltimore Harbor, we can ski in the winter... From mountains to ocean, we've got it all! BTW... Ocean City is my favorite place on earth...and of course --the best people, too!

Paige, OC is the most kid friendly beach resort... be sure to bring your son --he'll love it! Let me know if you ever visit, if I'm down there when you are, we'll have a drink! Robin

I've been to Ocean City one time, back in 1997. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites, I believe was the name because I actually stayed in one of the suites. It is beautiful. This is where my daughter, Paige's future daughter in law, first got her taste for crab!!! I couldn't believe it, she was only 18 mths old or so and had to try it. She loved it and to this day still does! Beautiful, beautiful place. Lisa

Lisa, I'm glad to know that you've made it to OC. The one bad thing about it is that its so popular now that summers are really crowded. Back in the day (The 70's) it was primarily Marylanders... now I see license plates from all over the country! I wonder how they found it as it's a destination resort you go to on purpose, chances are small that someone would just find it by accident. But I will always love it.... walking on the boardwalk on a warm summer night after being on the beach all day is what summer is all about... When I was a teenager I lived and worked in Ocean City for three summers in a row (75',76',77') with a bunch of my high school friends. I am still close with all of my HS friends and we reflect that those were the best times of our young lives. My hubby and kids love OC as well.

Hey Robin: I live in a "tourist" area as well and I can tell you this, when tourist season is over we are so relieved!!! OC is beautiful and I can understand why you love it so much. I also enjoy going to Long Beach Island, NJ. OC and Long Beach where two places I hit that same summer and both provided lots of relaxation and fun. Lisa

Hi Al, The crabs are phenomenal this year... had some 7 inches across!! Packed and sweet, haven't seen any like them since 1990 or 91.
We went to OC for the 4th of July, perfect weather all week. Going again in a few weeks.
Hope you had a good time. Robin

Hi Robin,
My name is Debra and I live in Waldorf, Md. Love your website, especially the cookie exchange site.I got plenty of ideas for my 6th annual cookie exchange for this year.
Speaking of crabs, you won't find them better anywhere else but here.
I plan on visiting this site quite often.
Happy Holidays, Debra

Hi Robin. My name is Kerri and I live in Lexington Park, MD. It is in St. Mary's County (Southern Maryland) almost on the end of the peninsula bounded by the Chesapeake Bay, Patuxent River, and Pototmac River. I love your cookie exchange stuff! Based on what I learned from your site, I organized our first annual neighborhood cookie swap. It was last Saturday and turned out wonderfully! Thanks for the great site.

Robin - just wanted to say thanks for the info on Cookie exchanges. I "borrowed" quite a few of your ideas while hosting my first ever cookie exchange last night. 14 guests invited, 10 showed. Pretty good turnout. We played "two truths and a lie" , bingo and sang kareoke. It was a trip! I now have cookies coming out my ears, which will be great to use for my kids teachers gifts. I want to make this a yearly event and plan to check out the website on a regular basis for fresh ideas. I also live in the beautiful State of Maryland. Lusby to be exact. Anyone else close? We are surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay, Potomac and Patuxent Rivers. Losts of water fun to be had. Take care, and have a great holiday season everyone!

I'm from Maryland but am living in Virginia right now for school. You should make a page devoted to the unique lives of Baltimore County Private High School kids. Remember, it's a Maryland thing, outsiders wouldn't understand.

Hi Traci and Robin and everyone!
I was raised in Bowie (those Cap Center tix brought back such memories for me!) and I now live on the Eastern Shore (Queen Annes County).
Lusby is in Calvert County right?

Greetings from Silver Spring, MD. We moved here in '83 from Saratoga, NY and I hosted my 1st Cookie Exchange in ''84 in order to meet my neighbors. It was a hit and continued for 20 years! I just retired from hosting in '04 and started attending my friend Jackie's (dragging along two of my former exchangers). The tradition continues! Thanks for all the great ideas and recipes. I've shared your webpage with dozens of ladies. Merry Christmas!
